Archive - System Maintenance

Navy DSRC Preventive Maintenance (PM) for the Archive Servers, NEWTON and KATRINA, is scheduled for Monday, 30 December 2013 from 1230 CT to 1330 CT, as posted on the Navy DSRC web site

The focus of this maintenance is a system reboot to enable a Solaris Operating System kernel modification targeted at capping the ZFS file system's memory consumption characteristics.

Users are reminded that PBS batch queues will remain enabled on the Computational Servers HAISE and KILRAIN during this PM. Users should ensure input data needed for PBS jobs exists on the Computational Servers prior to PM start and that output data from PBS jobs is not prematurely deleted before archival to NEWTON after PM completion. We apologize in advance for the short turnaround of this notice, but due to low usage during this holiday period it was felt that this would be the best opportunity for this maintenance to occur rather than waiting until the first full week in January when utilization will start ramping up again.

Users are invited to report problems and direct requests for unclassified assistance to the Consolidated Customer Assistance Center (CCAC) at 1-877-222-2039 or by E-mail to
